National Symposium
on
Department of Biotechnology,
Sri Krishnadevaraya University
Andhra Pradesh, INDIA
17-18 February, 2006
Department of Biotechnology has taken the initiative to materialize a National level symposium on Biotechnology in Sri Krishnadevaraya University Campus. The recognition and assurance offered by biotechnology innovations have been remarkable over the past two decades and more than a few are to be accomplished with further refinements in the modus operandi. Mechanization of biological processes to lucrative extent, completion of genome sequencing projects of many organisms, new trends in proteome analyses and evolution of novel diagnostic and therapeutic schemes are some of the customized branches of biotechnology. Precise and perceptive progression in revealing the complex life processes have been paced protein sequencing, microarraying, processing of biological data and real time quantification
Biotechnology is an ancient science that has accomplished incredible progress in the modern era with the advent of bulk fostering of microbes and cells, manipulation of genes and commercialization of biological phenomena. The discipline is one of the most buoyant components of modern biology with profuse sects of it extending in assorted fields of customary human activities arraying from food habitat, fabric etc. Viable manufactures of recombinant produce for therapeutic, agriculture, industrial and ecological applications have been the most lucrative facets of biotechnology. Novel technologies together with RNAi, Oncolyticvirotherapy, Nanotechnology, Cloning and Biopharming could be the solitary and explicit substitute for combating a multiplicity of maladies like cancer, HIV, Diabetes, Transplantation, Population explicit, Environmental management and Biodiversity restitution in the near future. Distinguishing the prospective of this multidisciplinary science and the necessity for its dissemination, it is felt exceedingly desirable to endow with a broad dais for the Scientists, Research scholars and Students to discuss and swap their views to fetch the development of Biotechnology at an anticipated rapidity of the needy.
The applications of Biotechnology, an emerging discipline competing in the rapidity of its development and popularity in terms of its uses with information technology, are vast and varied and they influence the course and even manipulation of human, plant and animal is making. It is therefore appropriate that the young researchers are acquainted with the latest trends in the disciplines and their applications.
